Indulleida has signed with the Spanish Federation of Food Banks and the Food Bank of Catalonia two collaboration agreements by which the food industry from Alguaire will develop, at cost, more than 2.000.000 liters of peach and nectarine juice for its free distribution among the people who attend these solidarity organizations.
The volume concerted for this 2013 campaign is about 3.000 tonnes of fruit destined to be withdrawn that will be provided by numerous Producer Organizations of Fruit and Vegetables (OPFH) of Catalonia, Aragon and the rest of Spain. This fruit will be transformed in Indulleida’s facilities (Alguaire, Lleida) and Zufrisa (Calatorao, Zaragoza), and it will be bottled by the Food Corporation of Guissona.
Indulleida, S.A. is a company dedicated to the manufacture of by-products of fruit which is located in Alguaire (Lleida) in a 210,000 m2 own industrial estate that it includes as well part of the village of Vilanova de Segrià (Lleida).
Its shareholders are cooperative and horticultural plants, more than 150 producing companies including more than 16,000 farmers in Catalonia, Aragon, Valencia, Murcia, Navarra, Andalucia, Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, and southern France.
Nowadays Indulleida S.A. converts approximately 300.000 tonnes of fresh fruit per year, becoming a leader group in Europe concerning the manufacture and distribution of semi-finished juices and the integral use of fruit.
